Dr. Eugene Gosy, the Williamsville pain management physician accused of unlawfully providing narcotics prescriptions to patients, has been dropped by two local health insurers.

Fatal crashes involving drivers who recently used marijuana doubled in Washington after the state legalized the drug, according to the latest research by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety. The road safety group hopes the new research is an eye-opener to other states, including New York, that are considering legalizing the drug.

A new report by the American Cancer Society is warning women of a link between high levels of residential radon and the risk of blood cancers, such as leukemia and lymphoma. This is the first population-based study to link the two, and comes from the same 19-year study group that found the link between smoking and cancer.

Military C-130 transport planes have been flying out of the Niagara Falls Air reserve Station for more than 40 years. That ends today when four of the aircraft leave on what will be the final C-130 deployment for the 914th Airlift Wing.

Three people escaped an early-morning house fire on Moselle Avenue between East Ferry and Box in Buffalo. One of the three had to be rescued and is in critical condition at Erie County Medical Center.

The New York State Bar Association is calling for an overhaul of New York's criminal defense system for the poor.  The lawyers say it should be a top priority for state lawmakers and Governor Andrew Cuomo during the current legislative session.

Lisa Chesson, who won a silver medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics with the U.S. women's hockey team, has signed a contract with the Buffalo Beauts for the 2016-17 season. General Manager Ric Seiling announced that Chesson and the Beauts agreed to terms on a one-year, $15,000 contract.
