"In this story there's a main set piece. And it's literally the greatest character in the film. And it's this room right here. And we're going to shoot in this room. And I'm so excited."

Fichtner, who is originally from Cheektowaga, says Cold Brook tells the story of two ordinary guys in a small town who embark on an extraordinary adventure. He says it's an indie film.

"We're not a huge budget. But we have enough. And, I said to my partners on this, 'I promise you, you want to shoot this in Buffalo because Buffalo is the city of good neighbors. And you will experience good will that you can't put a price tag on it," Fichtner said.

Filming starts Wednesday at the History Museum and in several other locations in Buffalo and in East Aurora.

Along with Fichtner, the film stars actor Kim Coates, whose credits include Sons of Anarchy and Black Hawk Down.
