While many Londoners will attend their first Bills game this Sunday, some will also be trying their first real Buffalo wings.
The HarborCenter restaurant (716) Food and Sport is setting up shop at Wembley Stadium ahead of this weekend's contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars. HarborCenter spokesman Don Heins says the move took intricate planning.
“It was undoubtedly something that our staff had to plan ahead to pull off. Our staff worked very closely with Delaware North to get this done. They had to ship over a lot of our ingredients so that we’re able to use the exact same high-quality ingredients that we use here at (716) to be able to create that same high-quality food and bring the taste of Buffalo to everyone who’s attending the game there,” said Heins.
"(716) at Wembley" will serve up wings and beef on weck for stadiumgoers. Game attendees should have a lot to look forward to. In February, Buffalo was ranked the third best food city in the world by National Geographic.
The restaurant will also participate in Saturday's third-annual "NFL on Regent Street" event.
“We’re bringing the first ever chicken wing-eating contest to it, preparing the wings the same quality way you get them here at (716) Food and Sport, and teaming with a couple Bills Hall of Famers, Jim Kelly and Thurman Thomas, to really make this event a lot of fun,” said Heins. “It’s really going to enhance the fan experience for the game.”
