Buffalo Police have charged a Buffalo man who has confessed to the murder of his wife.

Antoine Mattox, 32, has been charged with second-degree murder of 38-year-old Nedra Thomas-Mattox. She was found dead in the bedroom of their Andover Avenue home late Monday afternoon after her 10-year-old son called the landlord.

Antoine Mattox was immediately identified as a person of interest. He was located by Rochester Police inside the Greyhound Bus Station and returned to Buffalo. Buffalo Police Commissioner Daniel Derenda say the couple had a history of domestic violence.

"As I'm told by the detectives that were on the scene, she suffered a very violent death. [It was a] very brutal, very graphic scene," Derenda said.

Police say Mrs. Mattox did not have an order of protection against her husband. Antoine Mattox made a confession statement to police after his arrest.
