Buffalo Police are warning of a suspected police impersonator making the rounds.

Police say on Dec. 28, 2017, a motorist was pulled over near Mercy Hospital in South Buffalo about midnight by a dark-colored SUV, possibly a Ford Escape. The vehicle appeared to have blue lights and a siren.

A white male in his early-to-mid-30’s, about 200 pounds with a full beard, approached the vehicle with a badge around his neck. Police provided no further details about the encounter.

They recommend anyone who encounters this individual to call 911 and request a marked unit respond to their location.
