Canadian company BTRG opens U.S. headquarters in Buffalo

Business Technology & Resource Group, or BTRG for short, was established in 1993 and is headquartered in Mississaugua, Ontario.  Already having done business with some major employers in Buffalo, including Delaware North Companies, BTRG has chosen the Queen City for its U.S. headquarters.

"On a daily basis we are selling our services to large clients that have bought software from Oracle, IBM or Workday," said BTRG president Jeff Goddard.  "We also seek out companies that would be interested in changing the way they manage their human resources and payroll.  Financial systems and business intelligence is really our specialty."

Leaders within the City of Buffalo hail BTRG's new office for two reasons.  First, it reuses space in one of the city's vintage buildings, the Electric Tower.  Second, according to Mayor Byron Brown, it demonstrates Buffalo as the ideal location for Canadian firms looking to enter the U.S. market.

"I think we're going to see much more Canadian business investment in the City of Buffalo, and that's why we're working so hard to make infrastructure and other investments to show the attractiveness of Buffalo to Canadian and other business investors," said Brown.

"People are friendly, they're helpful, it has that small town feel but it has big city services," added Goddard. "I can't think of a Canadian in the southwest part of Ontario that hasn't flown out of Buffalo at some point in time and experience that hospitality firsthand."
