Canalside is ready for a busy summer

Canalside kicks off its "2017 Summer Season" Friday. And a long list of events and programs for families, fitness enthusiasts, music lovers and more were announced on Thursday.

Canalside General Manager Matt LaSota says there's a focus on new kids programming everyday this summer.   

"We've enhanced the beach area, the big sandbox area, we've turned half of it into a dinosaur zone with an 18 foot dinosaur statue and all sorts of entertainment. We want to do fossil digs. And then Canalside Kids Series, it's Canalside Creates, Canalside Discover, Canalside Reads, also different things throughout the week that kids can come down and do different activities," LaSota said.  

Zumba is among several fitness programs that will be available at Canalside this summer.

Other new activities include Boardwalk Bazaar featuring food from local restaurants, live music and street performers every Friday evening. The full calendar is available here.
