City employee is under arrest, accused of stabbing a dog

A seasonal city employee is under arrest, accused of stabbing a dog on a South Buffalo Street Saturday morning.

A woman who was walking her dog on Mineral Springs Road and Frank Avenue says the man got out of a city owned vehicle and approached her. They exchanged words and then the man stabbed the dog. He fled the scene with another man driving the city vehicle.

Police later stopped the vehicle and arrested 46-year-old James Craddock of Buffalo. He was charged with aggravated animal cruelty, criminal possession of a weapon and menacing.

The dog was treated for its wounds at an Orchard Park veterinary clinic.
