The cab driver was taken to ECMC and treated for non-life threatening injuries including a broken left hand.

Evans was taken into custody at his home and has been suspended effective immediately without pay, pending departmental review.

Evans appeared in Buffalo City Court Monday morning for arraignment. The judge set bail at $40,000 dollars and suspended his driver’s license.

Evans has been charged with leaving the scene of an injury accident, criminal mischief and other charges. He pleaded not guilty.

In Court Monday, two Peace Officers had to help Evans, who was walking with a limp, to the podium to face the judge. He appeared to be injured.

Evans also has several domestic violence cases pending which the judge transferred to Domestic Violence Court.
