Erie County Executive Chris Collins talks about budget surplus

Buffalo, NY – The Erie County Executive says the county is operating $44 million in the black. But the County Comptroller reports most of the surplus comes from $41 million in federal stimulus Medicaid assistance.
Chris Collins announced the budget surplus during his annual State of the County address Thursday. Now some county legislators want to spend some of the surplus on human service programs.
