Ft. Erie, ON – On September 26th, 1901, what is believed to be North America's first auto race was held on the grounds of the old Fort Erie Race Track, in conjunction with the Pan-American Exposition; the three day race was sponsored by the Buffalo Auto Club and the Auto Club of America.
