Fire destroys three East Side houses

May 2, 2014

Fire destroyed three houses on Buffalo's East side Friday afternoon.  Firefighters responded to a two-alarm blaze on Dupont Street near Woodlawn Avenue around 1:00pm.  It was deemed to be under control after about an hour.

A fourth house was heavily damaged.  There are no reported injuries.  One resident was able to safely escape.

The Buffalo News reports investigators are looking into the possibility that a renter, who was evicted earlier today, may have started the blaze.  Authorities are searching for that individual.
