Healing of city of trees five years after October Surprise

Buffalo, NY – Five years ago, October 12, 2006, a freak storm moved through the Buffalo region. It was a storm that began with windy, rainy weather.

Temperatures plummeted bringing in sleet, freezing rain and then heavy snow. It's known as the October Surprise. It wrecked havoc on some of the oldest living trees in the City of Buffalo and nearby suburbs.

We welcome a new WBFO News contributor, Brian Meyer. Meyer takes us to Delaware Park to examining the healing of our city of Trees.
