Congressman Brian Higgins is turning to legislative action to stop the decision to close the Social Security office in Amherst.
According to the Buffalo News, Higgins will introduce a bill in Congress that would require the Social Security Administration to explain its rationale before closing any of its offices.
The Amherst office is slated for closure on March 28. Its operations are expected to merge with the office on Exchange Street in Buffalo.
