Jamestown police searching for homicide suspect

Public schools in Jamestown went into lockdown Thursday due to the search for a person of interest in a morning homicide.

Jamestown Police are looking for Keith Robbins, 36. The shooting just after 9 a.m. on Prospect Street near Prather Avenue. Details of the incident have not been released.

Jamestown Police have located Robbins' vehicle, a Ford F-250 truck, on the city's west side, but Robbins is still at large. Anyone who may know of his whereabouts is asked to call Jamestown Police at 483-7537, or 911.

Schools went into lockdown, with no one allowed in or out of any school building. The lockdown was lifted for normal dismissal, with Superintendent Tim O. Mains saying  the district believes Robbins went into hiding and "poses little danger to our students."

Robbins is believed to be armed and dangerous.
