Kennedy receives Independence Party endorsement over Stachowski

Buffalo, NY – State Senate candidate Tim Kennedy has received another key endorsement in his challenge of incumbent Democrat William Stachowski. Kennedy, an Erie County legislator, received the Independence Party endorsement Saturday.

It's the second minor party line Kennedy has secured. He has also been endorsed by the Conservative Party. Both the Independence and Conservative parties had supported Stachowski in past elections.

"I'm proud to receive the endorsement of the Independence Party, whose support is indicative of my demonstrated independent record in representing those I serve," Kennedy said. "Independent-minded Western New Yorkers recognize my willingness to challenge party bosses and take on the status quo, as well as my ability to work in a bi-partisan fashion to deliver results for our community."

Kennedy is taking on Stachowski in the Democratic primary in September.
