Plans for the 14th annual National Buffalo Wing Festival were announced Wednesday. Wing Fest founder Drew Cerza says more than 30 local, regional, national and international eateries will be serving up more than 120 styles of wings.

The focus on this year's gathering will be on crafters of different wings flavorings, such as peanut butter and jelly or bacon and maple syrup.

Also new, this year, is local craft brewers. Flying Bison Brewing Company founder Tim Herzog says his brewery has been challenged to pare up its locally-made beer with wings.

"There will be samplings where you can come out and chat with us, talk beer and wings and how great they go together," Herzog said at a news conference Wednesday in Niagara Square.

Cerza says last year's wing fest attracted more than 70,000 people from all 50 states and nearly three dozen countries.

The festival takes place September 5 and 6 at Coca-Cola Field. Proceeds benefit the Alzeimers Association, The Food Bank of WNY and Meals on Wheels.
