New smoking ban for playgrounds

Jul 13, 2013

Albany has handed down a new restriction on outdoor smoking.

Governor Andrew Cuomo has signed legislation that bans smoking at outdoor playgrounds in the state during daylight hours when a child under the age of 12 is present. Sponsors of the law claim that they are interested in protecting the health of children who are vulnerable to the effects of secondhand smoke.
