Orchard Park, NY – When the Orchard Park Town Board convenes in 2012, it will do so as a three-member body.
Voters Wednesday approved a resolution to cut the board from five to three seats. About 2,300 people turned out for the special election, waiting as long as an hour at the town's only polling place.
The vote was spearheaded by regionalism advocate Kevin Gaughan, who previously succeeded in reducing legislative bodies in West Seneca and Evans.
Alden residents will vote on a similar a resolution Tuesday. While a downsizing vote in Hamburg is scheduled for November.
