Paladino considers running for governor

Buffalo, NY – Buffalo developer Carl Paladino is considering a run for governor.

Paladino says he's tapping into the so-called "tea party" anti-tax movement. If he does enter the race, Paladino says he would do so as a third party candidate in the November election.

For now, he says there is no firm timetable for announcing his candidacy.

"I've never run for office before, so I have to figure out how we're going to approach it," Paladino told WBFO News. "I don't want to ask people to donate to an effort that is not formulated to win. We're going to win."

Paladino has been a vocal critic of what he says is excessive spending by state and local governments. He lashed out at Democrats David Paterson and Andrew Cuomo, saying he has no confidence in either of them.
