Paladino would support Trump if he runs for Governor
The Republican gubernatorial candidate from four-years ago says he wants Donald Trump carrying his party's banner this year.
Buffalo developer and Buffalo School board member Carl Paladino tells WBFO News he will back Trump if the Manhattan developer commits to the race against Governor Cuomo.
Trump is interested and has been meeting with Republican leaders like the local developer and Erie County Chairman Nick Langworthy.
Trummp brings two-major assets, name recognition and a lot of money against an incumbent, who has $33-million in his campaign treasury.
Paladino said Trump would be a strong candidate.
"Not only does he have the funding to run a good race but he already has the name recognition. He's right on all the issues, as far as I'm concerned. And, he has the intestinal fortitude to face down Andrew Cuomo, which is something I like," said Paladino.
Paladino is especially happy Trump is strongly opposed to Governor Andrew Cuomo's signature legislation of the SAFE Act.
The former candidate said that's probably the incumbent's biggest mistake and it will hurt him this year especially Upstate, New York.
