Palin Speech Resonates with GOP Base, Collins Addresses Delegates

Buffalo, NY – GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin is winning high praise from Republican delegates following a rousing speech to them Wednesday night at the party convention in Minnesota.

University at Buffalo Political Scientist Josh Dyck says Palin came out swinging, not only against Barack Obama, but against the media.

"The strategy worked like a charm," Dyck said. "Palin came off as a strong and confident woman and, more importantly, she energized the base of the party, which has been lukewarm to the McCain candidacy."

Palin's speech culminated a night of convention activities that also included a brief address by Erie County Executive Chris Collins.
