Heavy Lake Effect Snow continues to strike parts of Western New York already hard hit by an earlier band that dumped more than five-feet in places like Cheektowaga, West Seneca and Lancaster. The consistent snow since Monday has meant many plow drivers are working endlessly as they try to clear all the snow.
WBFO's Cheryl Hagen spoke with one plow driver named "Brian" who stopped for a Gatorade early this morning while plowing roads in Cheektowaga.
Brian says he started plowing Monday at midnight, noting "This is more snow than I've seen ever." He adds he has no idea when he will get to go home. Brian says "safety is a priority... if you're tired, you pullover." He did get a few hours sleep this morning.
Brian says his only advice is "stay off the road... Unless you need something, food desperately, medication. It's not worth it.... the sooner we get the cars off the road, the sooner we get them clean and it'll be safer for everybody."
