Report: Three Bills bids all below $900 million

The list of bidders interested in the Buffalo Bills appears to be short. A national publication reports the bids are coming in below the expected sale price.

After estimating earlier in the week that the Bills are worth $935 million, Forbes said yesterday the sale of the team has only attracted three interested parties. Each of the bids is below $900 million.

Shortly after longtime owner Ralph Wilson passed away in March, some speculated the team could sell for just over $1 billion.

Forbes, citing sources familiar but not directly involved with the sale of the team, says Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula submitted a bid of $890 million. The Toronto group of Jon Bon Jovi, Larry Tanenbaum and Ed Rogers bid $820 million. Donald Trump offered $809 million.

The bidding process was supposed to wrap up in time so NFL owners could approve the sale at their meeting in October, but that deadline may now be extended.
