A 32-year-old man was sentenced in Erie County Court Wednesday to 25 years to life in prison for second degree murder for a killing that occurred nearly a decade ago.

Erik Donaldson was convicted by a jury in August for fatally shooting his friend, 22-year-old Christian Thomas of Buffalo, in the face and back.

Thomas went missing on December 30, 2007. His body was recovered on Montana Street on April 8, 2008.
