StoryCorps: William and Glendora Cooper

Buffalo, NY – WBFO presents another story that was recorded at StoryCorps in Buffalo last summer. William Yancy Cooper says he was "blackmailed" into becoming an artist. He says his mother and grandmother allowed him to pursue his interest in art as a youngster as long as he didn't complain about being home schooled. William came to StoryCorps with his wife Glendora. The native of Montgomery, Alabama says he was able to take advantage of his talent while serving in the military.
