Studies could stall Maid of the Mist construction

Construction of storage facilities for the Maid of the Mist boats could be facing unexpected delays.

The Niagara Preservation Coalition, a newly formed group, is lobbying for an investigation into preservation issues, both environmental and historical, regarding the former Schoellkopf Power Plant site where the storage facility would be built. Construction must get underway soon to have the facility ready for next winter. The News reports that Skeptics claim that the coalition is aligned with Hornblower Cruises, who will operate tours from the Canadian shore.
