Buffalo, NY – State University Chancellor Nancy Zimpher visited Buffalo Wednesday for a presentation on her new plan for SUNY schools. She says the plan will encourage entrepreneurs, revamp teacher education and make it easier for community college students to transfer to SUNY schools.

Zimpher says SUNY can do a better job of driving New York's economy and creating jobs through innovation. She says implementing the plan now could lead to greater state support down the road.

"If the state gets healthier, the state will be able to afford the support it has provided in the past and should continue to provide for public higher education," Zimpher said. Zimpher also says that the plan includes goals for reducing energy consumption and boosting international stud
