Target store evacuated after bomb threat

A bomb threat last evening closed the Target store on Walden Avenue in Cheektowaga for approximately two hours.

A call was received at the store at around 7 p.m. and the building was evacuated. Cheektowaga Police then located a suspicious package in a battery recycling bin.

WIVB reported that Erie County Sheriff's bomb squad members examined the package and determined that it was not dangerous.

The person who made the false report is still being sought.

The store re-opened at around 9 last night.
