The Singing Nun
The Singing Nun

Buffalo, NY – The new movie Julie and Julia opens today, and Jim is looking forward to Tony's review of Meryl Streep in her high-camp role of Julia Child. We hear about this weekend's revival of the acclaimed play Endwords, the works of Samuel Beckett by Torn Space Theatre. The Tragic and Horrible Life of the Singing Nun, with Jimmy Janowski, is more high camp, with an irreverent look at the sad story. Julius Caesar is continuing at Shakespeare at Delaware Park, and the Subversive Theatre's production of Eugene O'Neill's The Hairy Ape is ending at the Manny Fried playhouse, part of Buffalo's Infringement Festival. Peter Pan is a great family presentation at the Miller Bandshell in Niawanda Park in Tonawanda, and there's a staged reading of Alex Lewin's Further Adventures of Suzanne and Monica at the Chautauqua Institution.
