Buffalo, NY – Trailblazing signs to honor the memory of South Buffalo native Tim Russert now adorn the street where he grew up.
Russert family members gathered with City, state and federal leaders Wednesday to unveil the new signs.
There is a new sign at the corner of Woodside Avenue and McKinley Parkway in South Buffalo. It says this Route designated as Tim Russert Way. Russert grew up at 174 Woodside. Buffalo's beloved son died unexpectedly of a heart attack at the age of 58 in June. A short time later the Common Council approved plans for the signs.
The two signs are now located at each end of the block of Woodside Avenue designating it as Tim Russert Way.
