A Quebec truck driver pleaded guilty in State Supreme Court to charges in connection with a hit-and-run accident that killed a pedestrian in Lancaster June 21.

About 11:50 p.m. that night, authorities argued that Ryan Johns, 28, of Depew was fatally struck at Broadway and Pavement Road by a tractor trailer driven by Sebastien Lavertu, 32. Lavertu pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an incident resulting in death.

Lancaster Police used numerous videos from several sources to identify the truck. Lavertu was arrested when his damaged truck entered New York State at the Quebec border near Lake Champlain.

Sentencing will take place on October 18.
