The National Weather Service has issued a pair of weather warnings for our region.

A wind chill warning for all of Western New York will run until seven o'clock Sunday morning. A lake effect snow warning is in place for Orleans County until ten o'clock tonight where three to six inches of new snow could accumulate.

Bitter cold temperatures are expected to remain with us for the next 24 hours. High temperatures on Saturday will only reach the low single digits with wind chill values falling to near 25 degrees below zero. Overnight temperatures are likely to fall below zero before the mercury begins to rise again on Sunday.

It is very important to prevent any exposed skin if you plan to be outside for any period of time. Warming centers and shelters are open across Western New York.
