Tuesday will mark the 26th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, a law that made discrimination against people with disabilities illegal.

This past July the nation celebrated the 25th anniversary of Americans with Disabilities Act.  The civil rights law was designed to prevent discrimination against those with disabilities. A section of the law also works to make sure places are accessible.  But one local woman brought her story to WBFO's Eileen Buckley, describing her life filled with 'inaccessibility'.

Sunday marks the 25th anniversary of the historic Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). In honor of the occasion, Governor Andrew Cuomo issued a proclamation and signed two pieces of legislation.

Sunday marks the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Senator Robert Ortt along with other elected officials gathered in North Tonawanda Saturday to celebrate and call for the NFTA to reinstate two Niagara County bus routes.
