Governor Andrew Cuomo on Monday announced the kick-off of New York State Women's Suffrage 100th Anniversary Commemoration Commission, which will be responsible for a series of statewide programs that celebrate women's suffrage in New York State.

With its array of historic buildings, the crumbling landscape of downtown Jamestown offers poignant reminders of a small city that was once a jewel of the Northeast.  State officials hope a $10 million award from the Downtown Revitalization Initiative will help restore some of that glory. 

An ethics reform measure approved by the legislature at the end of the legislative session still hasn’t been signed by Governor Cuomo. And some good government groups say- it shouldn’t.

More New Yorkers are now eligible for nutritional benefits under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), what used to be called food stamps.

Governor Cuomo has introduced new emergency regulations he says will improve the safety and accountability of child day care programs in New York State. The regulations define the conditions under which the state may revoke or suspend a provider's license and increase penalties for serious violations of child care health and safety standards.
