Tempers flared Wednesday at the New York State Board of Elections, where commissioners voted to limit the subpoena powers of the investigator in charge of enforcing campaign finance violations.

A coalition of attorneys general from eight states and the District of Columbia filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration on Monday to stop a Texas-based company from publishing instructions for 3D-printed guns on its website.

Barbara Underwood has been New York's Attorney General for just over seven weeks now, after her predecessor Eric Schneiderman resigned after accusations he physically abused women he was dating. Schneiderman has said the encounters were consensual.

WBFO Albany Correspondent Karen DeWitt sat down with Underwood to talk about some of the very high-profile work that the office is continuing to pursue under her leadership, including the lawsuit by her office against the Trump Foundation.

New York Attorney General Barbara Underwood is suing the Donald J. Trump Foundation and its board of directors over what she calls "extensive and persistent violations of federal law," her office announced Thursday.

The directors of the foundation named in the suit are President Trump and three of his children: Donald J. Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump and Eric Trump.

The New York State legislature chose Barbara Underwood, the acting Attorney General, to replace the former AG Eric Schneiderman for the remainder of the term, which ends December 31.

Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie said he still needs to consult with the other legislative leaders before he can set a date to vote on a replacement for former Attorney General Eric Schneiderman to serve out the remainder of the term, which ends Dec. 31.

The state Legislature began interviewing candidates to replace Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, who resigned over a domestic violence scandal.

Solicitor General Barbara Underwood became acting attorney general on Tuesday, taking over for the disgraced Eric Schneiderman, who resigned after a New Yorker article detailed four women who accused him of numerous instances of physical violence.
