The Hillside Family of Agencies has announced the retirement of their longtime President and CEO. Dennis Richardson, who has been at the agency for 24 years, will step down at the end of June.

Marquan Ellis was evicted from his home in Las Vegas, Nevada when he was 18.

His mother battled with a drug and gambling addiction while he stayed at his godmother's house. But he couldn't stay there forever.

He found his way to the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth where he enrolled in the independent living program.

WBFO Arts and Culture Desk reporter Scott Sackett recently visited the Albright-Knox on a Family Funday and shares what he discovered.


The Food and Drug Administration says children under 12 should not be given prescription medicines that contain codeine or another narcotic, tramadol, and that such drugs can also be dangerous to youth between 12 and 18.

Local refugee shelter celebrates new playground

The VIVE refugee shelter in Buffalo celebrated the installation of its new playground Monday. The organization serves refugees placed throughout New York State and Canada and currently houses more than 100 adults, 40 of whom are children.
