As the area's massive snow piles dominated the local and national news for many days recently, a notable development in Chautauqua County may have gone unnoticed. Legendary comedian Jerry Seinfeld has been booked as the headline act at the 2015 Lucille Ball Comedy Festival in Jamestown.

It didn't take long to sell out Jay Leno's headline appearance this Saturday as part of the Lucille Ball Comedy Festival. Organizers hope that enthusiasm spreads to the many events that make up the five-day festival which begins today in Jamestown.

Billy Gardell of the CBS sitcom "Mike & Molly," and Paula Poundstone are among the major acts appearing at Jamestown's Lucille Ball Comedy Festival in August.

According to Journey Gunderson, executive director of the Lucy Desi Center in Jamestown, last year's event drew 13,000 visitors and sparked $3.6 million in economic activity.
