Fudoli facing heat in tax break vote

Lancaster Town Supervisor Dino Fudoli is facing criticism for decisions regarding property owners Bella Vista Group.

Critics are charging that a conflict of interest existed when Fudoli joined in a vote to approve a tax break for property Bella Vista owns in Lancaster. At the time Fudoli was negotiating with Bella Vista for the sale of a separate piece of land. Fudoli claims that there is no connection between the two issues.

The appearance of impropriety clouds an already contentious issue as Fudoli is facing an overdue property tax bill with the town.

The location search for a new veterans cemetery has been narrowed down to three possible locations.

The US Department of Veterans Affairs has identified two locations in Corfu and one in Lancaster as possible sites. No specific date has been set for making any final decisions, but the plans for the cemetery were introduced in 2010. The site is anticipated to handle nearly 100,000 veterans and family members.

Currently, the closest veterans cemetery to the Buffalo region is more than 100 miles away in Bath, NY.
