Western New York proved to be productive ground Wednesday for Vice President Mike Pence. As Buffalo News Political Reporter Bob McCarthy reports, Pence attended a fundraiser at Salvatore's that earned $400,000 for Republican Party efforts. The visit also featured a discussion with local small businesses who heard Pence pitch the benefits of the Trump Administration's tax overhaul plan, a proposal that has been blasted by the leaders of New York State's Democratic Party.

Rarely has a single door attracted so much media attention.

All weekend, cameras have been trained on the wood-paneled door of the clubhouse at the Trump International Golf Club in Bedminster Township, N.J., as the journalists behind them sought to suss out clues to the next step in President-elect Donald Trump's transition efforts. And on Sunday, those clues trickled in with each new arrival.

Tonight it will be the vice presidential hopefuls’ turn to debate. Virginia Senator Tim Kaine and Indiana Governor Mike Pence haven’t received nearly the attention that their running mates have gotten thus far, but tonight’s debate could help determine who is elected this November.

This evening's face-off between the 2016 vice presidential hopefuls certainly won't have the pizzazz — or inevitable enmity — that last week's debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton had.
