Pussy Willows

It was another glorious ethnic party in Buffalo Monday, as Dyngus Day and its parade rolled through historic Polonia. The East Side party continued well into the night, with lots of Polish beer, red and white, pussy willows and water pistols.

Christians are gathering this Easter Sunday to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Easter marks one of the holiest day on the Christian calendar. Spring flowers are a symbol of the Easter season and as WBFO's Eileen Buckley reports so is the Pussy Willow and a Polish tradition.

This weekend marks Palm Sunday on the Christian calendar.  It will begin the final week of the Lenten season that leads to Easter Sunday.  WBFO's Eileen Buckley finds out how the pussy willow is a symbol of a Polish legend on Palm Sunday.
