An apparent fatal drug overdose is suspected after three bodies were discovered in an Oliver Street apartment in North Tonawanda.

Police said a fourth individual in the apartment told officers that he and his companions had consumed cocaine at around midnight Tuesday and that he had passed out. When he awoke this morning, he discovered the bodies and called 911 around 8:45 a.m.

In addition to police, the North Tonawanda Fire Department was also called in and declared the three people dead. The bodies were transferred by the Niagara County coroner's office to the Erie County coroner's office.

Police said there was no evidence of any struggle or injury with the victims and an investigation is underway. New York State's Good Samaritan Law allows people to call 911 without fear of arrest if they are having a drug or alcohol overdose that requires emergency medical care or if they witness someone overdosing.
