Council Member Brian Davis Pleads Guilty to Criminal Charges

Buffalo, NY – Ellicott District Common Council member Brian Davis pleaded guilty to criminal charges Friday morning for using campaign funds for his personal use.

Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita says Davis skimmed about $2,000 from his campaign account for personal expenses. Davis pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges that each carry a maximum sentence of one year in jail.

An FBI investigation of Davis' dealings in the failed One Sunset Restaurant controversy continues.

His guilty plea could lead to his removal as a Council member. His attorney, Rodney Personius, says Davis will not resign.
