COVID-19 vaccine clinics for teens open today

May 1, 2021

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz has announced that three vaccine clinics will be open today for teenagers, and all of the clinics will be prom themed.

The theme is a way of enforcing the notion that if students get their first vaccine today, they will have had their second shots before their proms take place. Speaking yesterday, he stated that both the Pfizer and the Moderna vaccines will be available.

"The sixteen and seventeen year olds will receive the Pfizer. The eighteen and above will receive the Moderna. We're going to have a fun time with it, and I want to thank the over three hundred area parents who have already signed up their children for tomorrow, because we know the vaccine works. It protects people from getting very sick."

The clinics are open until 3 PM today at McKinley High School, SUNY ECC North and SUNY ECC South. Plenty of spots remain open, and walk-ins will be welcomed.
