DiNapoli warns against federal cuts to health care funding

Sep 8, 2018

State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli is warning New Yorkers that proposed federal funding cuts could affect the health care for millions of state residents.

He notes that the Affordable Care Act, or ACA, has helped to increase the number of New Yorkers with health coverage to more than 7 million people, an increase of 57 percent over the past decade. Federal dollars pay more than 50 percent of the costs related to Medicaid and other major state funded health coverage programs.
