Farm Bureau: 'Enforcement only approach to immigration would be devastating'

The Green Light Bill has been signed by Governor Cuomo, which means undocumented workers can now get driver’s licenses. Advocates say this is a benefit for many of their employers-- farmers. But farmers have many more concerns when it comes to migrant workers and immigration reform. WBFO’s Nick Lippa spoke with New York Farm Bureau Spokesperson Steve Ammerman.

President Donald Trump has recently threatened to remove millions of people in the country illegally. There are laws in New York State that protect undocumented workers on farms, but what would happen if all illegal migrant labor just left overnight? Steve Ammerman said the impact would be in the tens of billions.
