Fort Erie fire scorches historic structure

A Friday morning blaze caused extensive damage to a restaurant housed in an historic Fort Erie building.

Authorities believe that the fire began in a kitchen area in apartments above the Long Shotz Bar & Grill. The blaze caused an estimated $1 million in damages to the Princess Street structure that was constructed in the 1800's.

There were no injuries reported in the incident.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
