Hamburg native sworn in as air defense chief

A Hamburg native is now in charge of the air defense of more than 180 million Americans along the nation's eastern seaboard.

After 25 years of service in the U.S. Air Force, Col. Emil Filkorn has been sworn in as commander of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Eastern Air Defense Sector in Rome, New York.

WBFO's Marian Hetherly talked with the colonel about his new challenge and new challenges in air defense.
