Dec 31, 2020

Whether it was speaking out against racial injustice in North Buffalo, leading a teach-in on civil rights downtown or participating in a rally for better infrastructure on Bailey Avenue, India Walton was both seen and heard in 2020. She spoke to WBFO News about her resolutions for the New Year.

Walton said her determination to create a better Buffalo for all will increase in the New Year.

“I resolve to remain committed to the residents of Buffalo,” she said. “My hope is that the memories of those of us who marched together this summer are long, and that none of forget how our cries for justice were responded to.”

Walton ended her year by announcing her candidacy for Mayor in 2021, promising to shake up the old political guard in Buffalo.

“20-21 will be the year we redefine public health,” she said. “Reclaim our neighborhoods and reimagine community safety. This is our time.”
