Intimidation charged in Seneca Nation elections

Oct 26, 2014

Tribal unrest is preceding next month's elections for leadership of the Seneca Nation of Indians.

Candidates with the One Nation party are accusing the Nation's Board of Electors with acting in a partisan manner when they disqualified One Nation candidates from the ballot. The Board of Electors is greatly influenced by Nation President and Seneca Party member Barry Snyder, Sr.

Allegations of corruption also followed reports that Seneca Nation Party members threatened the jobs of One Nation candidates and their families if they remained on the ballot.

The Nation's courts will hear the case.
